“Prof and Student” (spring 2017) reminded me of my beginnings at Calvin. The first professor I met there (other than my uncle, Carl Huisman) was Larry Nyhoff. I was very impressed by how genuinely interested he was in my well being. When in his calculus class, he without fail integrated God in each class period. Each and every teacher at Calvin was outstanding in every way—not only as a leader, but also as an example of how to be a follower of our Lord.
My son went to another fine Christian college. Neither of us will ever forget the experiences we had that shaped our lives from that moment on. Why go to college, indeed?
