Celebrate the special people in your life!
In March of 2017, Olivia Haverkamp was diagnosed with a rare childhood cancer. She refused to be defined by her disease and provided cancer no more shelf space than she thought it deserved (not much). During the almost three years that Olivia had cancer, she hiked to Machu Picchu, snorkeled the Great Barrier Reef, attended dances, delivered speeches, earned a full-tuition college scholarship, and participated in the Calvin Honors Scholars program. These activities highlight Olivia's adventerous spirit, committment to academic pursuits, and determination to live life wholeheartedly.
Another characteristic that defined Olivia was the sincere gratitude, appreciation, and kindness that she showed to others throughout her life. It is this characteristic that we celebrate on Gratitude Day!
