The Master of Science in Industrial Mathematics (MSIM) program is a fantastic graduate program for those with a degree in math or related fields looking to work in business or industry. It provides useful applied math, statistics, and programming skills. Beyond technical skills, the program provides training in industrial communication and project development, and financial support is included. In my talk, I will give an overview of the MSIM program, and discuss a particular interesting project I worked on during my first year, which turned into an internship. The project was to use data to model the risk of medicines from limited resource countries for being counterfeit or substandard based on a set of data parameters.
Refreshments precede the talk at 3:30pm in NH-282.
