The first Career Breakfast of 2022 will feature Calvin alumni Alicia Smit Sinclair.
Alicia graduated from Calvin with degrees in Political Science and Philosophy and went on to get her Masters in International Security Studies from Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service. She is currently consulting for the U.S. State Department on public diplomacy and Foreign Service issues. After graduating from Georgetown in 2017, she worked as a consultant in Canada, advising clients on business and public policy issues, government relations, and grant writing. Her background and interests are broad-ranging and include business and economic issues, public policy, organizational design, global women’s issues, leadership, and politics. Alicia holds a Secret security clearance with State Department, and interned at the Department of Justice when participating in Calvin’s Semester in Washington D.C. Program in 2015.
Spend an hour with Alicia, learning more about what it is like to work in the consulting field, details of what it’s like to consult for the U.S. federal government, including skills and experiences that employers look for, highlights of her work, and her career path since Calvin.
