How do I build a writing habit amid other responsibilities? How do I write better for different audiences? How do I write as a Christian scholar?
This workshop, led by Susan Felch, seeks to develop participants' capacity as Christian scholarly writers. It includes three main areas of emphasis. First, what kinds of habits and choices actually result in writing getting done amid the press of other tasks? Second, how can we increase the effectiveness of our writing for the audiences whom we seek to address, whether in guild, trade, or popular publications? Third, what does our identity as Christian scholars have to do with how we write, and what might it mean to write Christian scholarship at Calvin University? Participants should leave with both practical skills and key questions to address in relation to their own calling as scholars.
This workshop is open to Calvin University and Calvin Seminary faculty only. Places are limited. Visit Calvin.edu/Kuyers for more information, or email mlr34@calvin.edu. Sponsored by the Global Faculty Development Institute.
