The Henry Institute Series on Public and Non-Profit Leadership presents: Pam Hoekwater, Executive Director, Legal Aid of Western Michigan. She will share her own professional journey about how she became involved with Public and Non-Profit entities. All are welcome to attend.

Careers in government service and the non-profit sector require specific leadership, theoretical, and technical skills which are critical to successful operations and implementing sound public policy. This series hosts individuals who have chosen a career in public and non-profit leadership as they consider the challenges and rewards of their work. This week's guest is Pam Hoekwater.

Ms. Hoekwater received her BSW from Calvin College in 1998, and then in 2001 she received her JD from Notre Dame Law School. She is a member of many teams and committees such as Collaborative Divorce Professionals of West Michigan Pro Bono Team, Kent County Alternative Dispute Resolution Oversight Committee, Kent County Elder Abuse Coalition. Hoekwater also volunteers with Safe Haven Ministries. She was awarded Lawyer of the Year from Michigan Lawyers Weekly. She is currently the Executive Director of Legal Aid of Western Michigan.
