Join Calvin alumni on Saturday morning, May 4, for a walking tour in San Francisco.
The Presidio of San Francisco was a military base until 1994 when it was decommissioned and became part of the Golden Gate National Recreation Area. Today the Presidio is a diverse and flourishing park, with businesses, museums, restaurants and trails.
Join Sharon Traeger ’73 for a guided walk around the Presidio on Saturday, May 4 at 10 a.m.
We will learn about the early Spanish and Mexican settlements, the US Army base, today’s restoration of the watershed, and ongoing plans for a path to the Bay.
Meet at 10 a.m. in front of the Presidio Officers’ Club, at 50 Moraga Avenue (San Francisco): Click here for a map of the Presidio. Paid parking is available in the main parking lot in front of the Officers’ Club. Pay-and-display machines there accept credit and debit cards.
After our walk (about 2 miles) we invite all to join us for a casual lunch nearby at Sessions, a craft-beer bar and New American gastropub.
Please RSVP by April 29 if you’d like to join us there for lunch, and by May 3 if you will join us for the tour!
