The Department of Visual and Performing arts presents Vincent Andews, a senior composition major, and his original works.
Vincent Andrews is currently a senior with a double Bachelor of Arts in Music Theory & Composition and Psychology. He has been playing piano for about 12 years, along with secondary instruments of organ and bass. He plays classical and jazz piano with a primary music focus in composition. He has composed works for orchestra, solo piano, organ, choir, jazz big band, concert band, chamber ensembles, as well as electronic works and film scores. With his time at Calvin University, he has participated with multiple ensembles and performed at various venues, including playing original compositions. Vincent has also been involved in ministry by playing music with multiple churches and writing music. He has done internships with The Philadelphia Project and OneWay Ministries in which he wrote music for media ministry, led adolescents in church mission groups, led Bible camp activities (including musical activities), worked in church renovation projects, led worship music, and much more. After graduation, Vincent intends to go into teaching music, doing ministry work, and continuing to compose.
