Take the opportunity to attend one more career breakfast this spring as we welcome Dutch Ambassador Henne Schuwer, from the Netherlands Embassy in Washington, D.C. on Tuesday morning, April 30 from 8 to 9 am.
He is serving his third term in the United States and can talk from a unique perspective about a career in diplomacy, about Dutch-U.S. relations, about international perspectives on current U.S. foreign policy and external perspectives on the current administration, and probably much more!
Schuwer started working for the Netherlands’ Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1978, and after postings in Vietnam and India, his career centered on the European Union and transatlantic relationships. He served two terms with the Netherlands EU permanent representation, most recently from 2002-2006. Schuwer was also chairman of the Committee of Permanent Representations during the Netherlands EU Presidency in 2004 and also served with the director of the Secretary General of NATO from 2006-2009.
Don’t miss this unique opportunity – note that the breakfast (which is sponsored by the Henry Institute, the Political Science Department and the Frederik Meijer Chair) will be held in Commons Annex 214. There is limited seating for the event, so you MUST RSVP to Ellen at elh4@calvin.edu to reserve a place. Please include your cell phone number with your request.
