Behind the Scenes of GEO: Bring your Parents for some Open House food & fun on Friday, Oct 19, anytime from 4PM to 6PM
The Department of Geology, Geography and Environmental Studies is hosting an open house for students, parents, staff and faculty of Calvin College on Oct 19 in celebration of the new department designation GEO. Please save the date and join us anytime from 4PM to 6PM in the NH lower level.
Since 1982, the department has had a designation GGES but this year it changed officially to GEO and we’d like to celebrate! Come spend a little time in GEO and see behind the scenes on our rocks, fossils, and map collections. See our Augmented Reality Sandbox, Geospatial lab and mapping applications, our extensive Map Library, Paleontology Lab, and more! The Dice Mineralogical Museum will be open as well. Food, drink, and joy can be yours at our Open House – show up and relax with GEO!
