Visit the Czech Republic, Austria, Slovakia, and Hungary
Highlights
This tour begins with 1.5 days in Prague and ends with 1.5 days in Budapest, with walking tours in the historic sections of Prague, Český Krumlov, and Budapest sections during the land portions of the tour.
The 7 night river cruise portion begins in Passau, a German city on the Austrian border. Much of the tour is in Austria, with stops in Regensburg, Passau/Linz (or optional bus excursion to Salzburg), Emmersdorf and Durstein, and Vienna. It then stops in Bratislava, Slovakia, before ending with stops in Esztergom and Budapest, Hungary. The time in Hungary also includes an evening cruise along the beautifully lit Budapest skyline.
Passengers will choose their own daily excursions for the cruise stops (not included in pricing); the cruise ship offers an all-excursions package (approx. $550-$600/passenger) as well as individual excursions ($24-$128/passenger). The cruise portion includes breakfast daily, six lunches, and nine dinners with complimentary wine.
See the tour brochure [PDF] for all of the excursion options available in each city. Some examples include the Danube Gorge and Weltenburg Abbey, Melk Abbey, Schönbrunn Palace, the Small Carpathian Wine Route, and Visegrad Castle.
