Predictive typing is becoming ubiquitous on phones and laptops alike. But in trying to save time and effort, do predictions put words in people's mouths? My research suggests that the answer is "yes". I'll also discuss my ongoing research about how to design keyboards that inspire. Finally, I'll extend an invitation into research in the exciting and impactful intersection of Human-Computer Interaction and Machine Learning.
Refreshments precede the talk at 3:30 p.m. in NH 282.
