An Evening with Lisa Sharon Harper

The Calvin Center for Faith & Writing is delighted to welcome Lisa Sharon Harper to Grand Rapids for a lecture.

Harper is the best-selling author of a number of books, including the best-selling The Very Good Gospel. Named by The Huffington Post as a powerful woman leader, Harper is host of the Freedom Road Podcast, cohost of The FOUR Podcast, and author of a weekly column on Substack, “The Truth Is…”.

Her most recent book, Fortune: How Race Broke My Family And The World–And How To Repair It All, traces Black experience in the United States from the 1600s onwards, mapping American history onto her own ancestry. It is a deeply compelling book—and it will form the basis of her time with us.
