Title: Phenology and Floral Inventory at Flat Iron Lake Nature Preserve
Summary: Gifted to Calvin nearly a decade ago, Flat Iron Lake is a diverse Preserve serving home to over 250 species of flowering plants. The preserve boasts a range of habitats including a restored native prairie, woods, swamps, and the small lake lake after which it is named. The research conducted at the Preserve aims to better understand how plants respond to yearly weather and climate change, as well as, what implications this could have for Michigan's flora and fauna habitats in the future.
