Dr. William Tsutsui from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, TX presents, "Godzilla and Japanese Culture."
The Japanese film series featuring the giant monster, Godzilla, began in 1954 and remains hugely popular in Japan, inspiring numerous other Japanese and international films. Dr. Tsutsui will speak to us regarding this Japanese cultural phenomenom and its implications
Dr. Tsutsui is Dean of the Dedman College of Humanities and Sciences at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, TX. He earned his PhD in history from Princeton University and is a specialist in modern Japanese business and economic history. His books examine topics ranging from politics, technology, and banking policy to the film icon, Godzilla.
