Celebrate 10 years of watershed research, education, and restorative action with a morning of reflective art and hands-on planting.
Please join our final 10th anniversary celebration in collaboration with the Calvin University Art Department and English Department under the theme of Dwelling: Our Watershed in Image and Word.
"What does it mean to dwell faithfully in the Plaster Creek Watershed and how does art play a role in helping us connect with our communities and the places we call home?"
A short conversation with artists will be followed by a brief description of the current restoration project at Christ Church. Attendees then travel to Christ Church (2500 Breton Ave SE) to plant native plants in a bioswale. This project aims to curb erosion in the downstream ravine leading to Plaster Creek.
Refreshments, student poetry and photography exhibits available at 8:30am; education begins at 9:00am; restoration activity at 10:30am
Come dressed for the weather and bring gloves, if desired.

Location details
The Celebration begins in the CFAC with student art and poetry displayed between the Center Art Gallery and Room 135. Scones and hot drinks will also be available. Education will take place in Room 135. Parking will be tight in this lot due to another event in the CFAC, so come early and prepare for a little hike across campus, the West Lot will have lots of parking. Restoration activities will be held at Christ Church on 2500 Breton Ave SE following the talk.
