Mr. Darwin's Tree is a one-man play written and directed by noted playwright Murray Watts and starring leading British film, TV, and theater actor Andrew Harrison. The play "explores not only science, but religion, the divine intricacies of the soul, and what it is to be human... A rare treat" ("BroadwayBaby"). It has been described as "a brilliant, fast-paced and beautifully detailed performance" ("Church Times") and was hailed at the Edinburgh Festival as "an elegantly conceived, clever and highly informative performance, overflowing with gentle humor and charm" ("Three Weeks").
The play will be followed by a brief panel discussion featuring Calvin University faculty. This performance is sponsored by a grant given by Bridging the Two Cultures of Science and the Humanities II, a project run by Scholarship and Christianity in Oxford, the UK subsidiary of the Council for Christian Colleges and Universities, with funding by Templeton Religion Trust, The Blankemeyer Foundation, and the Office of the Provost at Calvin University.
Student tickets are free. General admission tickets are $6.
