Title: Introduction to Density Functional Theory Research
Abstract: Density Functional Theory is one of the most prominent physics research methods today, used in both quantum chemistry and solid state/condensed matter physics. It provides methods for approximating solutions to Schrödinger's Equation for many-body systems such as biological compounds. This talk introduces the basic methods of density functional theory, along with background in quantum mechanics, before showing how these methods are used in practice.
