A few years ago I was in San Francisco and saw a mural that said "IMITATION IS THE WHITE$T FORM OF FLATTERY" and in the word "imitation" were portraits of artists like Macklemore, Elvis, and other white artists. This conversation is for anyone wondering how their art can be inspired by other cultures without appropriating other cultures.
