Megan K. DeFranza, PhD, is a counselor, author, keynote speaker, and filmmaker helping people heal from harmful messages about sex, gender, and sexuality in Christianity and American culture. Combining careful scholarship with charitable conversations across differences, she invites people onto the common ground of our shared humanity. Dr. DeFranza has authored and contributed to several books, including Sex Difference in Christian Theology: Male, Female, and Intersex in the Image of God, and directed the documentary Stories of Intersex and Faith. Her work has elevated the voices of intersex persons of faith, and prioritizes both Scripture and the new science of gender.
