From January 23 - February 27, the Calvin College Department of Art and Art History is proud to present "Forgotten Memories," an exhibition of photographic work by the West Michigan Photography Collective at the (106) South Division Gallery.
Forgotten Memories explores the emptiness that exists when a story has been forgotten but the physical evidence remains. This work aims to bridge the past and present through photography. By sifting through heirlooms, old film negatives, and visiting locations where family once stood, photographers attempt to uncover buried memories. While the past cannot be revisited, this work explores traces of a lost time and attempts to connect with distant memories.
The artists are: Sam Brower and Christine Thelen-King, Don Ketchel, Dennis Timmons, Jonah Rosselot, and Kelly Walkotten
