Bridging the Gap Between Public Opinion Research and Television News:
Reporting on political polling during an election year is one of the most delicate lines to walk. Understanding the intricacies of the messy world of survey methodology and statistics while also creating engaging television and working with producers is a key part of my job at ABC News in Washington. We'll take a look behind the scenes of media polling on the 2016 election, talk about pitfalls with real-world survey research and think about how to turn it all into a snazzy sentence in a television script for millions of viewers.
Using Data and Statistics in Journalism:
I will present some of my work for the Washington Post, include our data base on police shootings.
