The January Series is a FREE 15-day lecture series that takes place each year to cultivate thought and conversations about important issues of the day.
In her book, My Body Is Not a Prayer Request, Amy Kenny, a disabled scholar and Shakespeare lecturer, shares how she’s witnessed the church traditionally treat those with disabilities as a miraculous cure narrative, even though they have much more to offer. She will invite the faith community to rethink their unintentional ableism and learn from the embodied wisdom of disabled people in her book.
