Developing a Culture of Respect - a webinar open to the Calvin public.
Hosting the event is the President's Advisory Team for Diversity and Inclusion.
About the webinar: Culture of Respect, now a division of NASPA-Student Affairs Administrators in Higher Education, was founded in 2013 to assist college campuses in prevention and response to violence. Among the tools developed have been the CORE (Culture of Respect Engagement) Blueprint, a six-point strategic roadmap that engages all constituent groups— students, parents, faculty, administrators, health professionals, athletes and more – in implementing those leading practices to shift campus culture to one free from sexual violence. The CORE Blueprint is prescriptive in its broad strategy while flexible in specific implementation. It includes a robust self-assessment (the CORE Evaluation) for schools to measure their progress as they answer the call to foster a Culture of Respect and ensure that all students are safe to pursue the promise of higher education. While the primary focus of this webinar is on addressing sexual violence, time will also be spent in applying the six-point strategic roadmap to other forms of hostility.
