The Calvin Executive Breakfast Series connects, informs, and engages the business and organizational community with interesting and informative content delivered by Calvin University voices.
According to the Department of Energy and the Energy Information Administration, solar energy is the most abundant energy resource on earth with nearly as much power hitting earth each hour as humanity uses each year. With costs falling, solar is poised to lead the growth of US and world power generation in the coming years.
Join us Wednesday, March 20, to hear from Dr. Jeffrey Christians, a 2010 graduate of Calvin University. Dr. Christians, currently assistant professor of engineering at Hope College, will speak about future ways we can harvest this abundant resource to better meet our energy needs. He will share some trends in the industry and discuss how innovation continues to drive the costs of solar energy down. He will also explore how a major shift in solar technology will potentially drive these costs down even further. As Jeff explains the emerging niches and applications for solar energy, we will learn how to use this “free” energy when it is available.
