Water, Water Everywhere. Are we good stewards of this precious resource?
Join us for the fifth annual Heritage Class lecture. Our guest speaker this year is Tom Newhof ‘58. Mr. Newhof co-founded Prein & Newhof in 1969 and has served as project manager and principal-in-charge of many of the firm’s environmental and civil engineering projects. His experience includes the planning and design of water treatment and wastewater treatment facilities, intakes, pipelines, pumping stations, storm drainage and flood control projects, water and sewer systems, airport improvements, industrial parks, residential plats, and condominiums.
In addition to his B.A. from Calvin College in 1958, Mr. Newhof received his B.S. in Civil Engineering as well as his M.S. in Sanitary Engineering, both from the University of Michigan.
His talk will discuss how much water we have, where it comes from, what we do with it and where it goes. Consideration will be given to groundwater, surface water, storm water and bottled water.
