Join us for an informal discussion with Dr. Lori Murray on the top 5 threats to US National Security and the Post-Cold War International Order.
Dr. Lori Murray, a senior fellow at the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR)Murray will address the five threats to the U.S. that Secretary of Defense James Mattis identified in a June, 2017 testimony to the House Armed Services Committee: North Korea; Russia; China; terrorist groups; and Iran.
Dr. Murray has worked in numerous other foreign relations posts, such as the Commission on Weapons of Mass Destruction and U.S. Intelligence Capabilities, as special advisor to the president on the Chemical Weapons Convention and as assistant director of the U.S. Arms Control and Disarmament Agency at the U.S. State Department.
Following the discussion, Dr. Murray will be giving a lecture on this topic, beginning at 7:00pm on the Western Michigan University-East Beltline Campus. The lecture is being presented by the World Affairs Council of Western Michigan. Please feel free to participate in the conversation on campus even if you cannot attend the lecture at WMU-East Beltline Campus. Both events are free for Calvin Students.
