In the rural hamlet of 18th century Shropshire, a harelip marks Prudence Sarn as a witch. Prue’s brother Gideon convinces her that marriage and family are impossible for someone like her, a social outcast. In his mad ambition for wealth and land, Gideon indentures his sister to his property and lays waste to love, family, and friends.Yet, a traveling weaver sees beyond Prue’s facial disfigurement and recognizes her compassionate heart. As their stories and lives cross paths, greed, ambition, prejudice, and hatred contrast with love’s redemptive power to create a rich and varied tapestry.
