Australian-born pianist and composer Percy Aldridge Grainger made significant contributions to the concert band repertoire. On Thursday, March 12, the Calvin Bands present a joint performance celebrating the compositional craftsmanship of this distinctive artist. Each ensemble will perform some pieces separately, ranging from Australian Up-Country Tune to Lincolnshire Posy. Both bands will then combine to perform Children’s March, as well as Grainger’s most popular work, Country Gardens. You won’t want to miss this special evening that is “Purely Percy.” The concert begins at 7:30 PM in the CFAC Auditorium.
