Mars: Astronomy and Culture

The Calvin College Department of Art & Art History is pleased to present Mars: Astronomy and Culture. This exhibition brings together photographs, drawings, posters, book covers, and video projections, connecting recent scientific images of Mars to the entire history of documentation and photography of the planet. Mars: Astronomy and Culture points to the impact of Mars on popular culture even before the 20th century.
This exhibition is presented by The Calvin Center Art Gallery in partnership with the Holland Museum and the Grand Valley State University Art Gallery.

Jo-Ann VanReeuwyk: Faculty Exhibition

Recent work by Jo-Ann Van Reeuwyk, professor emeritus. Van Reeuwyk’s work is developed in response to and in dialogue with Mars: Astronomy and Culture.
