Guest Speaker: Peter Boersma - Health Statistician, National Center for Health Statistics
Residing within the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), The National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS) is the Nation’s principal health statistics agency. Following its mission to provide statistical information that will guide actions and policies to improve the health of the American people, NCHS collects data on a wide range of health behaviors, conditions, and outcomes. This data is used within CDC, the broader government, and the general public to monitor the health of the nation. This talk will give an overview of the center, its data collection systems, and the functions they serve.
