Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, we will be offering only a limited number of in-person seats and will livestream the event for those who are unable to attend. If you wish to attend in person, you must register in advance; seats are limited, so register as soon as possible. Register by emailing philosophy@calvin.edu with the number of seats that you would like to reserve.

Our Presenters
Juliana Knot, "Running out of Reasons to Give: a MacIntyrian Analysis of Cancel Culture"
This presentation will explain cancel culture in light of Alasdair MacIntyre's work After Virtue.
Juliana is a senior studying Philosophy, Mathematics, and German. She plans on a career in journalism.
Honors thesis directed by Professor Rebecca DeYoung.
Kate Poortenga, "Community Matters: Aristotle, Individuals, Communities, and Government"
Kate is a senior majoring in Economics and Philosophy. She will be pursuing a Master of Public Policy at the University of Chicago after graduation.
Honors thesis directed by Professor Micah Watson.
