A Jesuit reading Calvin: John Hay and Religious Identity in the Reformation
Join us in the Meeter Center to hear Jill Fehleison describe her research as a Faculty Fellow of the Meeter Center over the past month. Fehleison's talk will explore how Scottish Jesuit John Hay used the works of John Calvin and other Reformers in his polemics treatises against Protestants. She will discuss which specific Reformed works Hay used and what his use of them says about religious identity during the late Reformation.
This presentation is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served.
