When radiation interacts with a molecule, several processes may occur. One of these processes is photoionization, in which an electron is ejected from the molecule, thereby leaving behind a molecular ion. This study focuses on the photoabsorption of molecular nitrogen near the first ionization threshold, bringing together several powerful computational tools (R-Matrix, quantum defect theory, and frame transformations).
