Join us at Calvin University on Wednesday, April 13 at 7 a.m. for the Calvin Executive Breakfast Series. We will hear from J.D. Loeks '99 on The Future of The Movies.
While the internet and streaming services were already hard at work disrupting the business of showing movies and selling concessions in theaters around the world, the COVID pandemic literally shut the industry down for a time. This added disruption caused even more pronounced shifts in human behavior away from the shared entertainment experience of the local theater. Hear J.D. Loeks share the first-hand experience of someone who grew up in and now leads the family business and held leadership roles in community and industry boards and organizations.

J.D. Loeks is a business and philosophy graduate of Calvin University who earned his MBA at the Daniels College of Business at the University of Denver. Raised in a family business that operates movie theaters and other businessesin Michigan, J.D. is President of Studio C, the parent brand for Celebration! Cinema, Showspan, Studio Park, and other related businesses.
