Join Plaster Creek Stewards' 2021 Fall Event for a morning of learning and restoration on campus and at an on- or off-campus site of your choosing.
You are invited to gather with us this fall for a morning of learning and action. First, we will meet at Calvin University for a brief talk by Dr. Gail Gunst-Heffner, co-Founder of Plaster Creek Stewards.
This session will explore the role environmental racism plays in creating unequal opportunities and life experiences for some while privileging others. Communities of color in the United States experience a disproportionate share of environmental risks and burdens. What steps can we take to promote environmental justice in the Plaster Creek watershed?
Following the talk, we will disperse to a few sites within the watershed to plant native plants taking steps to restore and renew the landscape. Families, groups, individuals, and all ages are welcome.
Groups can RSVP online - or email Araceli Eikenberry-Mancilla at aje32@calvin.edu for more info
