Recipient
Quentin Schultze
Professor Schultze was a driving influence in the growth and impact of the Communications Arts & Sciences (CAS) Department from 1982–2015. He understood his calling—to teach, write, and speak about the art and influence of communication from a Reformed Christian perspective. He created classroom learning environments which challenged students to explore how Christians could influence media, evaluate its impact, and transform communications in the church, in business, and in everyday lives. Prof. Schultze had the unique gift of integrating academic rigor with faithful reflection and real-world application. Students who landed one of Professor Schultze’s CAS classes knew they were in for provocative Christian debate and a fresh perspective on the media we often take for granted. Schultze regularly and passionately mentored students, challenged them to see the impacts they could make in the world, pushed them to listen for God’s calling in their careers, and followed through with long-term guidance.
