East meets West in the Symphonic Band’s final concert of the fall semester. Come enjoy a program full of music written by Western composers who were inspired by Eastern influences. Program highlights include Kevin Walcyzk’s Children’s Folksong Suite (after folk music collected by Bela Bartok), Jodie Blackshaw’s Letter from Sado (based upon a Japanese haiku and use of taiko drums), and David Maslanka’s Give Us This Day (referring to The Lord’s Prayer, but inspired by the writings of a Buddhist monk). The concert begins at 7:30pm on Thursday, December 7 in the Covenant Fine Arts Center Auditorium.
TICKETS: Admission is FREE; tickets are not required.
