...that they may be one as we are one (John 17:22b).

Family members know each other’s stories. But so much of the hurt and misunderstanding between Native peoples and others in North America comes from a lack of knowledge about where we are coming from, our common history. As the Body of Christ, do we know each other’s stories? The Blanket Exercise is a workshop, designed by Indigenous people and Native Americans, that tells the story of the relationship between first peoples and settlers in North America.

“The Blanket Exercise offers hope...Understanding can help us to deal with the past and move into the future. It starts by walking a mile in someone else’s shoes, or at least walking far enough together to squirm a little.” —Rev. Curtis Korver

Let’s learn our common story. Let’s live into the reality of the family we already are in Christ.
