The first debate in the Constitution Series considers DACA and limits on Presidential authority, with viewpoints from the left and right on contemporary Constitutional issues.
Issues surrounding constitutional limits on Presidential authority, including President Obama's DACA administrative order, are the topic of the first session in the Constitution Series at Calvin. Two faculty members along with representatives from the College Republicans and College Democrats will debate viewpoints from the left and right.
Immediately afterwards, a forum for Calvin students will continue the conversation at “Debate Over Dinner” – in the lower level lobby of the building beginning at 5 p.m. Dinner will be provided, but students must RSVP to participate (contact mas72).
The first event in the series is sponsored by the Dean for Research and Scholarship. The Constitution Series is sponsored by the College Democrats, the College Republicans, the Henry Institute, the Political Science Department, and the Pre-Law Program.
