Carol Adams, author of "The Sexual Politics of Meat" will explore the links between patriarchal values, the objectification of women and the objectification of animals. With accompanying images illustrating the ways in which women's bodies are often portrayed as though they were meat, Adams interweaves the insights of feminism, vegetarianism, animal defense, and literary theory in a thought-provoking presentation.
Co-sponsored by Gender Studies, Philosophy, Multicultural Affairs, Art and Art History, English, and the Sexuality Series.
