Calvin professors are often surprised to encounter interest in their work coming from far away. Profs. Judy Vander Woude, Peggy Goetz and Jill Bates of Calvin’s speech pathology and audiology program have made some amazing contacts with Chinese Christians who share her concerns for children with disabilities
In August 2018, Profs. Judy Vander Woude, Peggy Goetz, and Jill Bates traveled with speech pathology students to China to work with GIFT, a Chinese NGO, one of the few there that creates peer networks for families with disabled children. Working with Chinese churches organized by GIFT, the Calvin profs and students provided on-site and online education for pastors, families and health providers.
Come and learn how this partnership has transformed its Chinese and American participants.
