Many Christians hold to a Platonist view of mathematics. I will present an alternative Christian view that is rooted in a neo-Kuyperian tradition. This tradition rejects reductionist tendencies in the philosophy of mathematics, and honors multiple ways of knowing. Mathematics is sometimes seen as a neutral discipline, but it has not always been so. I plan to explore the non-neutral character of mathematics.
Refreshments precede the talk at 3:30 p.m. in North Hall 282.
