Pierce Cedar Creek Institute Summer Fellowships

Pierce Cedar Creek Institute awards grants to undergraduate and graduate students to complete research projects at the Institute each year. The undergraduate grants fund full-time summer research projects in the natural sciences, including biology, zoology, natural resource management, environmental science, chemistry, and geology.

URGE Fellowship for Summer Research

The Undergraduate Research Grants for the Environment program provides stipends for pairs of students and a faculty mentor to conduct research at the Pierce Cedar Creek Institute in the natural sciences. Because one of the primary purposes is to foster faculty mentor-student relationships as a powerful educational and motivational tool, we require research proposals and projects to be a shared effort between students and faculty mentors. 

Compensation

$3,750, housing and partial meal support.

The fellowship will be awarded based on the quality of the proposal. It will include a $3,750 stipend per student, on-site housing, and partial meal support for the 10-12 week (full-time) project. The faculty mentor is eligible for a stipend of up to $3,500 for travel, supplies, or salary.
