The Summer Undergraduate Research Experience (SURE) at Wayne State University School of Medicine offers internships in all areas of biomedical science.
The Wayne State University School of Medicine maintains state-of-the-art facilities located in the heart of a thriving Detroit Medical Center community. Wayne State University joins a select group of universities nationwide classified as a "University of very high research activity" by the Carnegie Foundation in recognition of its broad range of baccalaureate programs, commitment to graduate education, and strong research emphasis.
SURE (Summer Undergraduate Research Experience) provides valuable hands-on research experience to undergraduate students who are interested in exploring their career options in the field of biomedical science. Students and mentors are matched based on a student's educational and laboratory experience, as well as shared interests.
The program provides a dynamic look into careers available in the field including anatomy, biochemistry and molecular biology, cancer biology, immunology and microbiology, molecular medicine and genetics, pathology, pharmacology, physiology and translational neuroscience.
Compensation
While no housing allowance is provided, a $2,500 stipend is awarded.
