Yvonne Ferwerda

Education

Yvonne began her career with the Van Lunen Center as the first employee hired by the founding director in 2007. She was appointed for two years as interim director in July of 2017. In 2009 Yvonne completed an interdisciplinary bachelor’s degree in English, Elementary Education, and Communications Arts and Sciences at Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Michigan. She completed her master’s degree in Educational Leadership at Calvin in 2016, and is a Certified School Administrator in the state of Michigan. Yvonne has also taken courses towards a Certificate in Advanced Educational Leadership at the Harvard Graduate School in Education – Leading Learning and Driving Change. Yvonne’s passion is in Christian education with a strong interest in urban education. She attended Christian schools from kindergarten through college, as well as Elmhurst College in Illinois.
