Responsible management of the world's energy resources is essential if we are to reconcile global human need, preserve the biosphere, and provide for future generations. Energy issues are complex. Their solutions are equally so, because of a unique confluence of technical, social, economic, political and environmental factors.

This presentation will briefly examine the need for energy resources (including nuclear) and God's call to be responsible leaders and managers of the world in which we live, and faithful to the Lord whom we serve, Jesus, the Christ.

Mr. Berg, a global nuclear expert, is Sr. Vice President of Infrastructure Development for UniStar Nuclear Energy, a joint venture of Constellation Energy and Électricité de France (EDF). He joined UniStar Nuclear Energy in February 2007 and is responsible for fleet wide training, workforce development, human resources, information technology, and establishing UniStar Nuclear Energy's key business and administrative processes necessary for the development of the company's emerging fleet of evolutionary power reactors.

Most recently, Mr. Berg was Executive Vice President of the Institute for Nuclear Power Operations (INPO) in Atlanta, where he led INPO's evaluation and assistance programs. While on loan from INPO, Mr. Berg served as Managing Director of the World Association of Nuclear Operators (WANO) in London. Previously, he had responsibility for INPO's evaluation, training and accreditation functions and served as INPO's Executive Director of the National Academy for Nuclear Training. Mr. Berg joined INPO after serving in a number of nuclear leadership positions, including Site Vice President of the Braidwood Generating Station, at Commonwealth Edison in Chicago.
