Calvin College students led the way in the 2012 Gift of Life Campus Challenge—the largest college-based organ donor drive in the nation. Nineteen Michigan colleges and universities spent the past six weeks signing up students, faculty, alumni and other supporters to the Michigan Organ Donor Registry. Calvin signed up the most people as a proportion of its student population (5.09%). Calvin’s nursing students spearheaded this year’s campaign, bringing Calvin’s eight-year total to 1,084 donor registrations.
