Examine psychological concepts and apply these concepts to understand human behavior in the context of religion, health, and justice.
Religion can influence behavior and spiritual health. Research demonstrates that religious participation impacts individual health and health justice. This course will examine psychological concepts, apply these concepts, and thereby understand human behavior in the context of religion, health, and justice. In this course we will ask questions like: Under what conditions does religion promote health and/or justice, How does the biopsychosocial-spiritual perspective influence health and justice? This 2-credit course offers the unique opportunity to study with experts on campus and international health justice organizations in Switzerland during spring break.
