Upon successful completion of Calvin's Education Program, candidates are eligible for the Michigan Standard Teaching Certificate. The certificate will list grade levels and endorsement subjects that correspond to your Calvin program and Michigan Tests for Teacher Certification.
Helpful Links:
- Classes that can be taught in Michigan with each endorsement.
- Renewing the Michigan certificate
- National Board Certification (optional)
- ACSI certification is required by some Christian schools. Apply based on your completed courses related to Biblical studies (Foundations of Christianity core), Educational studies (EDUC courses), and Christian Philosophy of Education (EDUC 399).
Other States and Provinces
Students who hope to teach in a certain state or province should contact Calvin's certification officer for advice about choosing programs to complete. - Additional tests, such as PRAXIS Tests
- MTTC score reports
- Additional courses (such as a course in the history of the particular state)
- Official Calvin transcripts
- A copy of your Michigan Teaching Certificate
- Criminal background check and/or fingerprinting
